Last week the lovely Kate from ROBsessed asked me to take part in their 12 Days of Robmas by making some themed banners along with Kate herself (she's making her own gorgeous banners & wallpapers these days & she's awesome & I <3 her) & the talented Marina (creator of many fabulous Rob Wallpapers often seen in the Dark Recesses & writer of two of my fave Edwards, BBward & Caddyward). Yesterday was the first day of Robmas & today it was my turn to have my first banner up. I was so excited! Yes, I'm a dork. :-P

I made this banner for Kate at RobArt Gallery as the next edition in the "porn series". There will be a wallpaper & some cellphone wallpapers to follow within the next couple of days. The banner took me ages to do 'cause I was first choosing the pics (not an easy task, let me tell you), then enhancing them, then putting the banner together. In between all that, I kept going into a trance while staring at the pics & drooling on my laptop. ;-P I've also posted the pics I used in the banner for your viewing pleasure.

One of my favorite fics ever is The Red Eye by badjujube. I could waffle on endlessly about how much I love it, but instead I'm going to copy & paste the original review that I did of it on the Jasper's Naughty Girls blog back in May. Lazy, I know, but time is of the essence; I've got loads to do today. ;-P So here we go...

This week I am going to tell you about a fic that has rapidly become one of my favorites EVER. I have been captivated from the moment I started reading it & I enjoyed what I read so much that I made a blinkie for it. I am even writing this rec on a Wednesday because I adore it so completely that I really want to try to communicate just how freaking brilliant this fic is.

Summary - It's important for any private investigator to maintain a good relationship with local law enforcement and it's representatives. Therefore, I am always cooperative and polite with Chief Swan. Also, I try not to drink his daughter Bella's blood.

First of all, it is my belief that this fic is grossly under-reviewed & frankly deserves at least a million reviews, imho. You may think I'm exaggerating a bit, but it's THAT good! This is hands-down, other-contenders-should-just-give-up-now, the best Edward I've ever read. JuJu writes him so well that the only way you can't fall in love with him is if you were, um, dead. And I don't mean vampire dead either, I mean DEAD dead. In fact all the characters are well-developed & a pleasure to read. The author has written a Cullen family dynamic that has to be seen to be believed. They truly come across as a real family with histories that you don't just have to guess at; the author gives you some of their memories to share & enjoy & laugh your ass off at. Would it be redundant if I said that this is quite possibly my favorite Cullen family ever too? Tough! It is! My favorite! Wanna know why they're my favorite? It's because we get to see them through Edward's eyes & he has a wonderful relationship with his family. Also, they are freaking hilarious! The story is all in EPOV & it's amazing! Edward's inner voice is just made of awesome. I have never enjoyed an EPOV as much as this one. Truly. Every thought he has, every awkward thing he says; it's all superbly entertaining! And it's like he's talking to you the whole time. He has a way of explaining the way he is so well & his reasoning is so sound, that it will make you love him even more. I wish every Edward-hater would read this fic; you can't help but love this guy. There is so much funny in this story that you will be grinning like a loon when you're not laughing like a hyena. And it's not always obvious, in-your-face humor. It's also subtle & sarcastic & just all-round wonderful. The author is a talented lady. Here are a few samples for you...

"If it wasn't Chief Swan's daughter maybe we could find to another teenage girl to munch on." Emmett is grinning at me over his shoulder as he gets closer to our house. "Whatsherface Mallory's mom really likes you. Maybe you could do a sex for teenage daughter trade."

"Dude, you've been watching too much 'Secret Lives of American Housewives' or something." Jasper gives Emmett a punch in the shoulder.

"Bro, have you seen 'Desperate Housewives'? Those women are sex-fiends!" Emmett is exclaiming loudly at Jasper, hardly paying attention to the road at all.

"I've never had sex with a human. Have you? Seems like it'd be like stapling jello."

"Nah, man. Too fragile and squishy. Like trying to sand a balloon."

"You guys need to shut up! This is a serious problem. I almost killed that girl!" They turn around to look at me as if they forgot I was there.

"Sorry, man." Emmett and Jasper look embarrassed for a second and then they start giggling. Story of my goddamn endless life.

I know I said I liked mysteries, but not this kind of mystery. I'm into the kind of mystery that happens in books or in the movies and is resolved easily. I like the satisfaction of solving a mystery by reading a person's mind or seeing one of Alice's visions. I am thrilled by the kind of mystery that you can solve with some surveillance or reading phone bills or snooping around in a person's desk.

This mystery, on the other hand, is not nearly as much fun. The locked safe of Bella Swan's brain is dangerous and frustrating. She's a delicious smelling human whose death would be a major inconvenience not to mention a personal moral low point and a definite political snafu. She evades logic; she's a studious, shy honor student who doesn't understand the mechanics of birth control? She's an enigma with a hooded "Forks High" sweatshirt and pre-natal vitamins and I am, in humiliating fashion, fascinated by her.

I had actually developed an interesting fantasy relationship for the two of us before I even realized how idiotic I was being. I spend 90 years of immortality having zero interest in women and all of a sudden I'm daydreaming about a pregnant teenager whose blood I want to drink? I wondered if it was the equivalent of a wine connoisseur admiring the provenance and label of an especially prized bottle of wine. But then when I imagined drinking her blood it was no longer with relish but with dread and sadness. As Emmett would say; "WTF?"

I'm only giving you that because you really should be doing yourself a favor & reading the whole thing for yourself, ASAP. If you want to know why there are pics of Angela Lansbury & office supplies in the blinkie I made, well, you'll have read to find out. I cannot stress enough how superbly well-written & enjoyable this fic is. Having not had such a great time at work in the past week, this fic has just lifted my spirits & put a smile on my face & in my heart. Thanks, JuJu. Read it, people. You'll love it!

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a tweet from the immensely talented badjujube recommending a fic called Inappropriate Touching by jenjiveg. I am so damn glad I saw that tweet because this story is absolutely amazing! So well-written & original & hilariously awkward too. I adore this Bella & Edward so much and the supporting characters are fantastic as well, especially Emmett. I cannot recommend this fic highly enough. I flove it so much that I made a banner for it. Please go read it & leave the author some love. She deserves it SO much!

Here's the official summary - While OCD Edward works on his mental health issues, he meets a girl...who has problems of her own...not the least of which is chronic clumsiness. OOC, AH, BxE. Rated M for future lemons and language.

After drooling & clicking & licking & saving, I decided to have a go at enhancing some of the pics. I've never really tried this before, so I got a second opinion from someone that I trust when it comes to pictures of Rob (*waves at Kate* Thanks, lovely lady!). Now I'm posting them for your enjoyment. Hope you likey.

And because I have had this background for a long time & haven't really had a use for it, I put it together with my favorite WFE Rob pic. It may seem an odd combination to you, but to me, it's pure perfection. A perfect water rose & a perfect Rob. Done & done. ;)

After The Love Has Gone, Only Fools Carry On...

The title of this post is from a song called After The Love Has Gone by British pop group Steps (who I doubt that you have heard of). But, damn, is it ever true, huh? This line has been running through my head for a loooonngg time now & I finally decided to quote Alice and say "It's Time!"

The Team Jacksper blog is officially dead in the water, as far as I am concerned. You've probably noticed by the complete lack of posts for a while that something is up, but now you know. Dear Jackson Rathbone and his arrogant smirk just doesn't quite do it for me anymore. With or without the guitar. I certainly feel absolutely NO inclination to go looking for pictures of him for you like I used to. And when I do on rare occassion venture into JRO or JRS, I see the pics & just think "Meh..." Now, before you go lambasting me for what I've said, there are other factors involved here which have made the point of my blog null & void, so needless to say, I have been losing interest for quite some time now. I am a sensitive soul & when I feel that what I am doing is pointless and my feelings get hurt, my natural inclination is to want to get the fuck out ASAP.

I will be leaving the blog up as is, since I put a shit load of work into it & it is rather heart-breaking to have whatever hard work you've invested lots of time in being kicked to the curb, but I will be making some changes at some stage. I have yet to decide what those changes will be. They might be focused on the AH Edward fanfic kick I am on at the moment & also the fact that reading those, while imagining the beautifulness that is Robert Pattinson is just pure bliss. I've also been reading a lot of humorous fics lately, because RL is becoming slightly too much for me to take & I've been going through a terrible time emotionally & I really need a break from the seriousness. But when the "fun" of the fandom starts hurting you too, sometimes as much as RL does, then it's time to take a step back, you know? I know this may all sound very melodramatic, but let me tell you, when it's all that has been keeping you going for months & sometimes the only thing that made you feel like you had a purpose in this great big fuckery called life, then it hurts a fucking lot when you feel the need to let it go.

So I will be giving it some more thought & I will let you know what I've come up with, that is if you still want to stick around. I know there have been quite a few of you who have left me some wonderfully encouraging comments & I appreciate it more than I can ever say. I may mess around with the layout of the blog, but I've come to realize that I'm only really good with the pictures & banners, so Lord knows what kind of a stuff-up I'll make. Hold thumbs for me not to fuck it up totally, ok? Anyway, I think that's all I have to say. I have poured my heart out & have probably made a HUGE fool of myself in the process, but that's okay. I'm used to feeling like a fool. It's what I do in my spare time, after all.

Hey everyone! Yes, I know, I've been gone a looonnnggg time. I would still be gone for a while longer, but something really cool happened to me on Friday, after I had been having the worst week at work of my whole life. And, no, that isn't an exaggeration - worst week ever! Anyway, I had heard that the Irish band, Ash were in SA and the lead singer Tim Wheeler was being interviewed on the radio on Friday afternoon. I decided to call in, because I have been a huge fan since 1996 and I just wanted to tell him how much his music has meant to me. So, I finally get on the radio to chat with him and I'm telling him how much I love their music & how hardly anyone in this country knows their music, which is a travesty. So he's telling me to spread the word & so on. Then Tim asks me if I'm coming to the show & I say unfortunately not, because I live in Durban & the show is in Johannesburg (6 hour car drive, 1 hour plane flight away). Next thing, DJ Fresh pipes up & says "Well, since this girl is such a big fan of yours, if I fly her up here, will you give her a ticket to the show?", so Tim says OF COURSE! Next thing I know, I'm being put on hold so that they can get my details and now, after all that, they are flying myself & a friend up for the show on Wednesday night. Free plane tickets, free accommodation & free show tickets! HOLY SHIT! I just can't get my head around it! NOTHING like this has EVER happened to me before. And there wasn't even a competition going on. My mind is officially blown! So anyway, here are some of my favorite Ash songs for your enjoyment. Check out Orpheus first, it's amazing! The last time I posted some pics of Ben Graupner, I got a visit from the photographer (who I don't know from Adam, btw) who accused me of going to her personal website and stealing her pictures. She left some pretty rude comments, which I promptly deleted along with the photos since that kind of thing REALLY upsets me. I would just like to state that all pictures that I post here are found on either Jackson Rathbone Source or Jackson Rathbone Online or sometimes on Facebook or Twitter. If they are tagged, I leave the tags on, since I don't want to "steal" anything 'cause my Mom told me it was wrong to steal. My Mom also told me that it's wrong to be rude to complete strangers who don't know you from Adam, especially if you don't know the whole story of what happened. My Mom's good like that, but then maybe other Moms aren't. I don't know, therefore I won't judge. See what I did there? Anyway, I digress. My message is this... I promise that I did not come to your personal website and ass-rape it to satisfy my non-existant klepto needs. I saw the pictures, thought they were pretty and thought others might think they were pretty too, therefore I shared them with the few people that visit my blog. No offense intended whatsoever. Fact. Ben Graupner is edible. Absolutely, deliciously f*ckhawt and I want to lick him. Just saying. And I love his long legs! Bwahahahaha! I jest (sort of). That comment was for the lovely Circe290 - she's the one that pointed out to me that Jackson's legs look too short for his body. Now I notice this fact in just about every picture of him (even the ones where only the top half of his body is showing! Heehee... I jest again!). ;p Oh dear, I'm digressing again. This Is What I Mean By Smug

Thanks to Circe290 for the comment on yesterday's post... it's great to have you back and I'm sorry for making you laugh so hard you nearly passed out. :P And I know that lots of people love the smirky eyebrow thing, just like you. ;) It just generally doesn't do it for me, so I went looking for some samples to show what I mean when I say "I personally think that when he does the eyebrow thing & the smirky thing with the left side of his mouth, it's somewhat unattractive & it makes him look like a bit of a smug bastard that needs a kicking." I've never posted pics like this before; in fact, I've never even saved them to my hard drive before... I had to go looking for them. Click to enlarge & see the smugness up close. The first one isn't as bad as the last two. Those just make me shudder, and not in a good way. When I see that, I just shake my head & go "No, NO, DON'T DEW EET!" The pretty should not be distorted in this manner. It makes me sad. :(

A Huge Post To Make Up For The Lack Of Posts

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while. RL has been hectic, but here I am. So how much did you love Eclipse? I absolutely ADORED it! So much so that I've seen it 3 times already! And I could watch it again... and again... just saying. I loved every moment that any of the Cullen's were on screen. Robert Pattinson as Edward was just too much of hotness for one man, especially when he was angry with that tosser, Jacob for kissing Bella without permission. (I like Taylor Lautner, but Jacob can be a real pain in the ass sometimes.) I wanted to jump up & lick the screen! Go Edward!

I also held myself back from trying to lick the screen when Jasper was doing the fight training. Holy F*CK, that was just UNF! Jackson & Ashley's chemistry was smoking hot! Their fight training was like foreplay! And as for the Major's scenes, they were absolutely spectacular. I wore my Team Jasper shirt with pride.

And wasn't Nikki Reed amazing in Rosalie's flashback scenes? I thought she did a fantastic job & I wanted to cheer when she burst through the door in her wedding dress to kill that rat-bastard, Royce! Brilliant stuff!

All-in-all, I thought David Slade did an absolutely terrific job with Eclipse & I can't WAIT to see what treasures are going to be on the DVD extras! Billy Burke as Charlie was as awesome as ever! Who doesn't love Charlie? Him & his cop 'stache rock! Oh, and I loved Riley to bits, but didn't enjoy Victoria so much. As you know, Jackson has been here, there & everywhere (cue Beatles song) lately promoting The Last Airbender & I'm sure you've all seen the pics, so I'm just going to post some that appealed to me.

I'm throwing in a bit of eyebrow action below for Erin, since I don't think this one is as bad as some others I've seen. As I've told her, I personally think that when he does the eyebrow thing & the smirky thing with the left side of his mouth, it's somewhat unattractive & it makes him look like a bit of a smug bastard that needs a kicking. But then I suppose someone told him once that it looks sexy, so now he milks that thing for all it's worth, God bless him. Probably reckons it makes up for being slightly pocket-sized. That's just me & my opinion, though... sorry if it offends anyone! ;)

It's England vs USA In The World Cup

So the Football (sorry, Soccer) World Cup is ON! And things are VERY exciting in this country of mine. Football (sorry, Soccer) teams from 32 countries from all over the world are here & football (sorry, soccer) fever is rife. So why should you care, you ask yourself. Well, when I heard that the USA is playing England today, it inspired me to do this post. I will tell you this up front, though. As much as I love my American Twilighty friends, I REALLY want England to win the World Cup, so that's who is getting my support today. Sorry. But I promise to make this post worth your while. I was even googling the USA Soccer (see, I got it right) Team & some of them are damn fine specimens. See for yourselves...

This is an older pic of the Enland Team, but I wanted to use it since it's got my two fave players in it. David Beckham (front row, second from left) and Gary Neville (front row, centre). Some of these players will still be in the team tonight, though. So tell me, have you realized why football (sorry, soccer) is a great game to watch? BTW, I'm just going to say it... the rest of the world calls this game FOOTBALL, because it is played with the feet. Using your hands is illegal, hence the name football. Just saying. OK, moving on... I am now going to play you a song. The last time England won the World Cup was in 1966... it would be f*cking amazing if they could do it again this year! This is the 2010 version of the song by the Lightning Seeds that originally came out as England's official song for the Euro '96 Football tournament held in England. This version features Robbie Williams & Russell Brand. Everybody sing! "It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming, football's coming home."

And now some Twilight stuff since that's what you come here for, I suppose. Now how about a little Twilight version of the England vs USA match tonight? As you may or may not have noticed, most of my very favorite music is English. From The Beatles to Oasis to Take That (yes, I said it... TAKE THAT - the very best boy band EVER! Truth!). America may have had NKOTB & Backstreet Boys & N*Sync, but Gary Barlow's songs made Take That a force to be reckoned with and they will always hold a special place in my heart. And yes, I know it's not cool to like boy bands anymore, but we were young and they were pretty & they sang and danced nicely for us. What's not to love? Listening to this makes me feel young again... before we all realized what a shit-storm life can be.

That Jacket! It Could Have Been Better, But It Could Have Worse...

This post was inspired by an e-mail from Erin, who was wondering if the reason I hadn't posted any pics of Jackson from the MTV Movie Awards was because of the jacket. Well, she was bang on with her guess! The jacket is EXACTLY why I haven't posted any pics from the show... it was, is and forever will be shiteous in the extreme! I had a really good laugh with a bunch of ladies on Twitter during the awards show about that jacket. There were many theories as to what could have brought about this eye-sore. The general consensus? Take it away, Mr. Mackey...

Clearly Jackson needs to heed Mr. Mackey's wise words. He said in an interview that the jacket is by Moods Of Norway. I personally think they were effing with him and the jacket was in fact made by the visually impaired people of Norway, but I digress. After Erin's e-mail, I decided to play around a bit & see what I could do with the color of the jacket. As you will see, it could have been WAY better, but then it could have been worse, too. Jackson's Hair - Did YOU Steal It? Well, Give It Back!

So I went to visit the Jackson Rathbone Source site as I have been doing for a while now since they have such great pics of Jackson, and what I saw took my breath away & I don't know if I mean that in a good way or not. 100 Monkeys performed a show on 28th May at The Roxy Theatre and there are loads of great pics to see at www.jacksonrathbonesource.org , so go check them out. What caught my attention, though, was Jackson's hair (or lack thereof, as the case may be). It's even shorter than it was in the pics that Tara sent me from the last show she went to! Now don't get me wrong, I still think he's gorgeous as hell, but there ain't much rock 'n roll about this hair. I hope he's cut it for a role or something. I think it's just going to take some getting used to. He looks like a very sweet, good boy now... and that makes me quite sad. I've Booked My First Tickets For Eclipse - Have You?

I'm SO excited! Last night, I booked my first tickets for Eclipse online. I say "first tickets" because I will definitely be seeing it more than once (or twice... or thrice, for that matter) on the big screen. And what is even more exciting, is that I'm going to the 9:00 am show on June 30! Initially the release date for Eclipse in South Africa was July 7, but when I was checking the bookings on the Nu Metro site last night, much to my delight, there it was... June 30! On Monday when I get to work, the first thing I'm doing is putting in a Leave Form for that day. I can't WAIT! I'm even considering getting myself a t-shirt printed that says Team Jasper. No, you can't buy those here, so you have to get it done yourself. Sad, but true.

So tell me, have you booked your tickets yet? What are you most excited about seeing? Besides the Major on a horse, natch. Part of the reason that I'm going to see it more than once is because I suspect that I will not see much besides Jacksper on my first go around. Mmmmm... Jacksper... *stares off into space, drooling like Homer Simpson when he thinks of Duff beer* Sorry, I'm back. Speaking of Jacksper, I've been meaning to say this for a very long time now & I keep forgetting. I remember reading once on some random Twilight blog somewhere, that the person disagreed with people using names like Jacksper or Robward for the actors, saying that it confused the issue and took the actor's identity or individuality away or some such shit. Now, first of all, if it weren't for them playing these characters in the Twilight Saga, I wouldn't know who the eff they were and wouldn't really care either. Sorry, but there it is. It is because of the characters they portray, that I wanted to know more about the actors themselves. Hence the Team Jacksper name, because I love Jasper & I love Jackson... get it? Of course you do! And it sounds WAY better than Team Manwhore! Second of all, it's just an effing nickname! If you can't differentiate, there is something wrong & perhaps you should consult a doctor, or go back to school & ask your teacher for a refund. I don't know about the rest of you, but if I saw Robert Pattinson or Jackson Rathbone walking down the street, I would not seriously think it was Edward or Jasper and go up to them & ask what level of sunblock they are wearing, since they aren't sparkling in the sunlight. Just saying. Anyway, glad I got that off my chest. Sorry for the rant.

100 Monkeys Courtesy Of Tara (She Rocks!)

So the other day I got an e-mail from mrsalreyami, author of some of the best Carlisle fics out there. She sent me loads of photos from her most recent 100 Monkeys concert. She says she thought of me when she saw that he was clean, so she knew I would LOVE the photos. And now with her very kind permission, I'm going to share them with you, because they are awesome and so is she. She even wrote about a bit about the show for this post. So without further ado... take it away, Tara...

On April 28, I took a little road trip to Pittsburgh to hit my third 100 Monkeys concert in two months. Yeah, I admit it. I'm a groupie. And I'm cool with that.

I've got a thing for musicians...especially guitar players. And the members of 100 Monkeys are most definitely musicians. The greatest thing about seeing them live? Watching them switch instruments between almost every song (Jackson, for example, played 7 instruments in one concert, plus sang!), and just enjoy the hell out of being up on that stage.

Of the three shows I've been to (Chicago, Cleveland, and now Pittsburgh), I have to say that this one was the best. They all had their high points - I mean, Hot Fudge came from Cleveland! (insert massive drooling swoon here), but Pittsburgh rocked hard. The opening band was fantastic, Kissing Club was great, and then... a clean Jackson, in freshly-laundered and sexy as anything clothes, with freshly cut and washed hair and a fedora and gator boots, walked out on stage, accompanied by a barefoot Ben G, a still clean-shaven Ben J, and Jerad, wearing some very tight jeans. I almost cried. Seriously.

They played for about 90 minutes, and went through most of my favorite songs. Ben J sang Smoke, and that was the first time I've ever heard him sing it - WOW. I absolutely love the voices on each of these guys, they are so unique! And really, they are all swoon-worthy. Especially with a guitar. Or a bass. Or a harmonica. Or drumsticks. Or.... Yeah, groupie, remember? Enjoy the pics!

And there you have it! Wasn't that great?! I know I LOVED those pics and I can't thank Tara enough for them. So I was only going to put photos of Jackson at Bamboozle in this post, since he was looking rather f*ckhawt, imho, but then Clurrabella inadvertently convinced me to add some of Ben Graupner as well.
